Lions Clubs Kowloon Deaf Centre (1978)
A welcome banquet was held on November 17, 1978 when the International President Ralph A. Lynam and Lady Doty visited Hong Kong. In response to the call of International President to offer assistance to the deaf, District Governor Peter W. K. Ho of the Lions Clubs International District 303 – Hong Kong & Macao decided to donate HK$150,000 dollars for building the “Lions Club Kowloon Deaf Welfare Center” and presented the cheque to the Society for the Deaf. Now it is called The Hong Kong Deaf Welfare Promotion Association - Lions Club Kowloon Deaf Centre located in Oi Man Village at Ho Man Tin.

Lions Kowloon Special Child Care Centre (1981)


The Opening Ceremony of the Lions Kowloon Special Child Care Centre was officiated by Hon. Sir Philip Hadden-Cave, Chief Secretary and District Governor Larry Dunn of the Lions Clubs International District 303 – Hong Kong & Macao on December 19,1981. The Centre was the first full-day special child care centre providing services to the deaf at the age of 2 to 4. In addition to providing child care services, the centre focuses on hearing, language, lip reading ,intelligent training and parental counseling, and addresses the lack of such services and the need of day-care services. Now it was called Bradbury Special Child Care Centre.
