Sha Tau Kok Youth Centre was financed by the Lions Clubs International District 303 – Hong Kong & Macao. District Governor Simon K. Y. Lee was also responsible for the establishment of Lions Youth Centre Reading Rooms at Sha Tau Kok. The Sha Tau Kok Youth Centre and the Nam Chung Youth Centre, built at a total cost of HK.$73,000.00, were officially opened by International President Robert D. McCullough  on  December 30, 1970.
