In a Lions’ visit to China for Poverty Alleviation, the delegation found that the learning environment of Changxi Primary School was poor and the facilities were inadequate. There was no classroom, and because of the flood, some schools had to borrow the residents’ mud houses as teachers’ dormitory. The Lions Clubs International District 303 – Hong Kong & Macao therefore donated RMB 350,000 to support the establishment of the school. Changxi Primary School with 3 storeys and 586 square meters is located in Ruyuan Yao Autonomous City, Guangdong and the Inauguration ceremony was held on August 31, 1996.
