The Lions Clubs Government Maternal & Child Health Centre (1963)

The construction of the Lions Clubs Government Maternity and Child Health Centre was funded with HK$125,000 by the Lions Clubs International District 303 – Hong Kong & Macao, China to provide a range of health and disease prevention services to protect the health of children and women. The Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony of the Centre held on September 18, 1963 was officiated by the former Director of Medical & Health Services, Dr. Mackenzie and the Centre was opened on May 19, 1964. On March 7, 1968, the District further donated HK$150,000 for the establishment of a maternity ward and nurses’ hostel.

The Kowloon City Lions Clubs Student Health Service Center of the Department of Health was opened by the right honourable Christopher Patten, Governor of Hong Kong 3 December 1996. It is situated in 1/F, Lions Health Centre, 80 Hou Wang Road, Kowloon City
